BarberScope is operated by Lewis Digital Ventures LLC. By accessing or using BarberScope, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. About BarberScope

BarberScope is an online discovery platform that connects users with barbers, hairstylists, barbershops, and beauty salons across the United States. The platform currently provides:

• Public search and discovery of professionals and businesses by city, state, ZIP code, or approximate location
• Public profile pages displaying professional bios, specialties, services, pricing, and portfolio images
• Professional and business account dashboards for managing profiles, services, images, and availability
• Account registration and authentication

Booking, payments, and reviews are planned features that are not currently available. When these features launch, updated terms will govern their use.

2. Professional and Business Responsibilities

Professionals and business owners are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of their profile information, including services, prices, hours, and locations
• Maintaining any required professional licenses and complying with applicable regulations
• Ensuring all images they upload are lawful and used with the consent of any individuals depicted
• Their arrangements with clients and other professionals

BarberScope does not verify the completeness or accuracy of every listing detail beyond its verification badge process.

3. Verification Badge

BarberScope may award a verification badge to profiles that have completed a review process. The badge indicates that certain submitted information has been reviewed. It is limited in scope and does not constitute a guarantee of service quality, professional licensure, background, or fitness. Users should independently evaluate any professional or business before engaging their services.

4. Accounts

You must be an adult to create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• Providing accurate registration information
• All activity that occurs under your account

Professional and business accounts must be created by the individual professional or an authorized representative of the business.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or business
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Use the service for spam, harassment, or unlawful purposes
• Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or depicts non-consenting individuals
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or reverse-engineer systems or data you are not authorized to access

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to BarberScope. By submitting content, you grant BarberScope a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, operate on, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform. Public profile content is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.

7. Moderation

BarberScope may review, moderate, edit, suspend, or remove profiles, content, and accounts that violate these Terms or that BarberScope determines are harmful to the platform or its users.

8. Service Availability

BarberScope is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. BarberScope does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the service.

9. Warranties and Liability

BarberScope is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lewis Digital Ventures LLC disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms and excludes liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. These exclusions do not apply to liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.

11. Changes to These Terms

Lewis Digital Ventures LLC may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

BarberScope is operated by Lewis Digital Ventures LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how BarberScope collects, uses, and protects information when you use the platform.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address and authentication credentials. Authentication is managed by the Base44 platform provider.
• Profile information: Display name, bio, specialties, professional type, city, state, and images (avatar, cover, portfolio).
• Service information: Service names, descriptions, durations, prices, variations, and add-ons.
• Contact and support information: Name, email, city, and message submitted through join or support forms.
• Usage data: BarberScope may collect analytics data such as custom events to understand how the platform is used.

Public profile information (name, bio, specialties, services, images, and location) is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.

2. Authentication

Account authentication is handled by a third-party provider (the Base44 platform). When you log in with Google, Google processes your authentication. BarberScope receives your email address and basic account information from the provider.

3. Location Information

Location features are optional. When you choose to search by current location, BarberScope requests browser GPS permission and uses your browser-provided coordinates to find nearby professionals and businesses. Browser-provided coordinates may identify a precise location. Location data stored in your browser expires after 24 hours.

You can also search by city, state, or ZIP code without sharing GPS location. Both typed location queries and browser-provided GPS coordinates are transmitted to a third-party geocoding service (Nominatim, operated by OpenStreetMap): typed queries are sent to convert location names into coordinates for proximity search, and GPS coordinates are sent to convert them into a readable label. The returned label is privacy-filtered to omit street-level detail before being shown to you, but the raw coordinates or query are transmitted to that service.

4. How We Use Information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the platform
• To display public profiles, services, and images
• To communicate with you about your account and the platform
• To ensure security and prevent abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

5. How We Share Information

• Public profile data is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.
• Service providers: BarberScope uses hosting, storage, and infrastructure providers to operate the platform.
• Legal compliance: BarberScope may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Based on current data flows, BarberScope does not sell your personal information.

6. Storage and Cookies

BarberScope uses platform infrastructure to store account and profile data. Cookies and browser local storage are used for authentication, session management, and user preferences (such as search location). Location data in local storage expires after 24 hours.

7. Data Retention

BarberScope retains information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and maintain security. After that, data is deleted or de-identified.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction: You can request access to or correction of your information by emailing info@barberscope.app. Identity verification may be required.
• Deletion: You can request deletion of your information by email. Certain data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
• Public profile editing: You can edit your professional or business profile directly through your dashboard.
• Location controls: You can manage or revoke browser location permissions at any time through your browser settings.
• Account: You can request account deletion by contacting info@barberscope.app.

9. Children’s Privacy

BarberScope is not directed to individuals under 13. BarberScope does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child’s information has been collected, contact info@barberscope.app. Photos depicting minors should not be uploaded without the authorization of a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to This Policy

Lewis Digital Ventures LLC may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, the updated effective date will be posted on this page. Lewis Digital Ventures LLC will notify users of material changes as required by applicable law and obtain consent where required.
